At Stretch Relief, one of our missions is to educate everyone about the importance of stretching regularly and the proper techniques on how to stretch in the comfort of your own home (or gym)! We’ve designed a few classes for those interested in improving flexibility, mobility and posture as well as athletes that are looking to improve performance and recovery.

Yoga Stretch

Description: A vinyasa flow class with an emphasis on holding particular asanas in order to stimulate your stretching potential and aid you in achieving your mobility goals.  Class will approximately consist of a 15-20 minute warm up to activate and heat your muscles, 20-25 minutes of flow and strengthening exercises so you can find deeper opening and length, and 15-20 minutes of cooling down, where you’ll have time to unwind through a series of carefully selected asanas and stretches to heal and repair your musculature. Spend the hour discovering how to move your body in a way that feels best for you — unlock tight restricted areas, and grow longer and stronger, through deliberate movements utilizing your breath as a guide. Expect hands on assists in order to achieve deeper releases, articulate cueing, and a class that combines a combination of held asanas with flowing organic movements that will connect your mind, body, and breath so you may achieve the deepest stretch and length you’re capable of, while building the strength you also desire. All levels welcome!

Endurance Stretch     

Description: For athletes and people of all fitness levels looking to improve performance and prevent injury!  Avoid common injuries associated with activities such as running and cycling and even from sitting at a desk all day.  Cycling and sitting at a desk all day are similar in the muscles you’re straining and will cause tight hips and tight lower back, unless properly stretched. These types of activities can lead to injuries from over-usage such as plantar fascistic, shin splints, tight lats, knee pain, and lower back pain, Achilles tendinitis and more. This small group training class is designed to release your over active muscles, elongate your shortened (tight) muscles and strengthen your muscles surrounding your foot & ankle , core and hip complex.

Foam Rolling 101

Description: A great intro to stretching for those looking to learn about trigger point therapy. Trigger point therapy releases fascia & improves blood circulation throughout the body. Trigger point therapy also enhances flexibility, joint range of motion and also aids in post workout recovery. Other benefits of Trigger point release / foam rolling include but are not limited to: improving overall mobility, reducing and preventing joint pain, helping prevent common injuries, etc. This small group training class is designed to teach you proper trigger point therapy techniques when using the foam roller and also teaches you how to implement basic stretching into your flexibility routine.
